Meet our Tutor

Pamela B.

Pamela is an experienced New York City educator, instructional leader, and literacy specialist with more than 30 years of experience educating and supporting students. Her career includes eight years as a classroom teacher, two years as a citywide literacy coach with the United Federation of Teachers, and seven years as an elementary school principal. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from Millersville University and a Master of Science in Integrated Education from Cambridge College. She also earned graduate certificates in Dyslexia and Education Law from Indiana University–Bloomington. Pamela has completed her Orton-Gillingham Associate-level coursework at Bridge Academy and is finishing the last of her 100 supervised practicum hours. She has conducted tutoring, literacy intervention, and special education advocacy through her own company, and she is the founder of a nonprofit that expands access to educational support in underserved communities. Pamela believes that every child can learn when provided with appropriate instruction, encouragement, and a supportive learning environment. She recognizes that successful instruction involves more than teaching academic skills; it also requires building relationships, understanding each student’s strengths and challenges, and helping children develop confidence in their abilities. One of her greatest joys is watching struggling readers make meaningful progress and discover that they can become successful, independent learners.
