Lisa is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Therapist and dedicated reading specialist with over twelve years of experience helping children become confident, capable readers and writers. She currently serves as a second-grade head teacher at an independent school in New York City, where she brings a strong, literacy-centered approach to her classroom and supports a wide range of learners. Lisa holds a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and a Master of Arts in Psychology. She is extensively trained in structured literacy and evidence-based reading instruction, including Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham training through the Institute for Multisensory Education and Wilson Fundations Level 2 through Wilson Language Training. She has also completed advanced coursework in the Foundations of the Science of Reading and The Hochman Method: Advancing Thinking Through Writing. In her private practice, Lisa works closely with students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, providing thoughtful, individualized instruction in phonological awareness, decoding, reading comprehension, and written expression. Outside of her work, Lisa enjoys reading, being outdoors with her dog Scout, and playing board games with her two sons.
