Kelley L. is a Reading Specialist and Literacy Leader with more than 25 years of experience helping children become confident, successful readers. She spent more than 20 years teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area, including many years as a first-grade classroom teacher and Reading Specialist, before returning to New Hampshire. In her current role as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Leader, Kelley provides targeted reading intervention to elementary students and serves as a literacy coach, supporting teachers in evidence-based literacy instruction, assessment, and intervention. Kelley earned a Master of Education in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire and completed a two-year Reading and Writing Specialist certification program through Upper Valley Educators Institute. She also completed six months of Orton-Gillingham training through the Seacoast Children’s Dyslexia Center, including supervised practicum experience in Structured Literacy instruction. Kelley believes strong relationships are at the heart of successful learning. She enjoys discovering each child’s strengths and interests and creating individualized, engaging instruction that builds skills, independence, and confidence. She especially loves seeing children begin to view themselves as capable readers. Outside of teaching, Kelley enjoys yoga, gardening, paddleboarding, traveling, and exploring new places. She loves cheering on her daughter in hockey and sailing and attending her musical performances.
