Karin T.

Karin holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University and brings more than 14 years of classroom teaching experience to her work with students. After teaching third, fourth, and fifth graders in both public and private school settings, she transitioned into a dyslexia specialist role within her school district and has spent the past three years specializing in dyslexia intervention and structured literacy instruction. She completed rigorous specialized training to earn her Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) certification through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA), and utilizes Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia. She has also completed training in Orton-Gillingham and Morphology through the Institute for Multisensory Education (IMSE) and Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS). She finds great joy in helping students overcome reading challenges, celebrate their successes, and develop confidence in themselves as learners. She lives in Kentucky with her spouse and 1 year old son. Outside of teaching, she enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, and making memories with her family.
