Holly V.

Holly is an experienced and dedicated educator with a passion for special needs education. She holds a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Elementary and Secondary Special Needs from the Street College of Education in New York City. Additionally, she has completed over 55-hours of training in Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory phonics technique for remedial reading instruction. Holly also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Elementary Education with a specialization in Special Needs from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. In her teaching career, Holly has contributed her expertise to several educational institutions. At The Sterling School in Brooklyn, she served as a Head Teacher for second, third, and fourth-grade classes. The Sterling School caters to dyslexic and language-based learning-disabled children, providing them with intensive instruction. Holly implemented the school’s research-based curriculum and utilized Orton-Gillingham techniques to teach reading, writing, spelling, and language arts effectively. She also offers private tutoring services and has worked with diverse students in their homes, offices, and various educational institutions. She has also volunteered her services at Lady Liberty Education Alliance, a charitable organization offering reading instruction to students who cannot afford private fees. Outside of her professional endeavors, Holly enjoys various activities and interests. She is proficient in beginner to intermediate sign language and actively engages in personal fitness, cycling, softball, volleyball, dancing, and reading. She also possesses creative talents in writing children’s stories, cooking, music, and pottery.
