Gargi’s career as an educator over two decades has been devoted to students who struggle with reading and spelling. Since completing her master’s in special needs education from Lesley University, she has worked mostly with students who find reading and spelling challenging. She has taught students from kindergarten through eighth grade, though she prefers elementary levels, since that is the best time to provide most help to make significant differences in achievement and motivation. She has worked as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, reading specialist, and as a tutor. To understand reading pedagogy and to provide the best literacy instruction, she attended several professional development trainings, such as Lindamood Bell, Wilson Overview, Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS), Fountas and Pinnell, and many more. She received her Associate-level Certification from Orton Gillingham Academy. She believes in providing a safe and encouraging environment for students where they feel comfortable taking risks and challenging themselves. Through her long experience working with students, she has realized that all students can learn at their own pace and ability with the right instruction. Gargi loves to read, travel, and spend time with family.
