Farhana J.

Farhana is an elementary reading specialist at a Montessori school in Bethesda, Maryland. She holds a Master’s degree in Montessori Education from The Washington Montessori Institute and Loyola University Maryland. She is also certified in the Orton–Gillingham method after completing training with the Orton–Gillingham Academy. With 14 years of teaching experience across subject areas from Pre-K to first grade, Farhana understands that a strong literacy foundation is key to long-term success. For the past four years, she has focused on guiding elementary-aged children with literacy challenges, including dyslexia. Farhana is committed to meeting each learner where they are and tailoring lessons to support individual needs and pace. She finds the systematic and structured nature of OG very effective in helping her students progress. Farhana enjoys getting to know each student and incorporating their interests into lessons to keep learning engaging and relevant to them. Outside of teaching, Farhana enjoys horseback riding, camping, and exploring the outdoors with family and friends.
