Michelle G.

Michelle is a dedicated educator with over 30 years of experience as a special education teacher, classroom teacher, and reading specialist focusing on the whole child. She has taught Kindergarten through Grade 12. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Carthage College, a Master of Special Education from National Louis University and is a Certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner, having received her Orton-Gillingham training through the Wilson Reading Program. Michelle is known for her warmth, patience, positivity, and rapport with students and families. She has a wealth of experience working with neurodivergent learners, struggling readers and writers. She works with families to create a plan to improve upon their strengths and while helping students build their confidence. Beyond her profession, Michelle is learning to crochet, play pickleball, and enjoys traveling the country with her husband, especially through National and State Parks. Their dog Petey enjoys the rides with them. Michelle and family recently moved to Texas from Arizona, but was born and raised in the midwest. She loves being close to her children and grandson in Austin.
