Larisa B.

Larisa is a full-time educator with extensive experience working with students who have dyslexia, struggling readers, and students who need additional support in developing literacy skills. Originally from Russia, Larisa graduated from Barnaul State Pedagogical University with a Master’s degree in Teaching English and German. She holds a Colorado teaching license with endorsements in Elementary Education, K–12 Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE), and Language Arts and German for grades 6–12. She has received Orton-Gillingham (OG) training through the OG Academy, Fundations, and LETRS, and she uses structured, explicit, and multisensory approaches to help students build confidence and strengthen their reading and spelling skills. The most rewarding part of what she does is seeing students progress from sounding out each individual sound and blending them together to reading words fluently and confidently. Outside of teaching, she loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
