Laura is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience supporting children and families. For the past 12 years, she has worked in an elementary school as a member of the Special Education team, helping students overcome academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Through her work with students with dyslexia, Laura witnessed firsthand the impact reading difficulties can have on a child’s confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being. This inspired her to pursue the Associate Level Certification through the Orton-Gillingham Academy. She is passionate about helping students with dyslexia build strong reading skills while developing the confidence and resilience needed to thrive in school and beyond. Laura specializes in supporting students who may also experience anxiety, ADHD, autism, depression, or other emotional and behavioral challenges. Her unique background allows her to address both the academic and emotional needs of each learner. Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University, a Master’s degree in Russian Language and Literature from Northwestern University, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois Chicago. She has extensive training in mindfulness and is a Certified Yoga Instructor. When she is not working with students, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and dog, hiking, and exploring the outdoors in beautiful Colorado.
