Jill is an accomplished educator with 29 years of experience in education. She currently works as a dyslexia therapist for a school district in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Throughout her career, she has taught students from Pre-K through third grade. Jill earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and continued her professional education by obtaining a Master’s Degree from Cardinal Stritch University, specializing in Reading and Learning Disabilities. During her years as a classroom teacher, Jill developed a passion for supporting struggling readers and sought effective, research-based approaches to literacy instruction. This journey led her to the Orton-Gillingham approach and Alphabetic Phonics, which are multisensory methods designed to support students with dyslexia. She further advanced her qualifications by earning a Dyslexia Therapist License and becoming a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA). In her work with students, Jill provides individualized, multisensory reading instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs. She teaches a range of literacy skills, including phonological awareness, the alphabetic principle, decoding, fluency, reading comprehension, cursive handwriting, spelling, grammar, oral expression, and written composition. Jill lives in Texas with her husband and three children. Outside of teaching, she enjoys traveling with her family, playing board games, cooking, and reading.
