Jennifer D. is a dedicated educator with more than 25 years in education, including more than 10 years teaching middle school English Language Arts and serving as a kindergarten-through-eighth-grade principal. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University and a Master of Education from National Louis University. Jennifer received her Orton-Gillingham training through 32° Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc. She has completed graduate coursework from Aurora University in reading strategies and supporting struggling readers. Jennifer possesses extensive experience assisting students with varied learning profiles, such as dyslexia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, executive function difficulties, and autism. She is also trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention, an approach for supporting students who have experienced significant trauma. Jennifer believes students thrive when instruction is explicit, systematic, personalized, and grounded in evidence-based practices. She is passionate about helping students discover their strengths and become
confident, capable readers and writers. Outside of education, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, cheering on the Notre Dame football team, and getting lost in a good mystery novel.
