Andrea M.

Andrea M. is a reading intervention teacher with 26 years of experience in elementary education. She has completed extensive training in structured literacy and the science of reading and has a passion for early literacy and early intervention. Her teaching is systematic and explicit, with an emphasis on meeting individual learning needs and helping students build confidence. She has experience supporting students with dyslexia using structured, multisensory instruction to strengthen foundational reading and spelling skills. Throughout her career, she has used several evidence-based literacy programs, including Heggerty, UFLI Foundations, 95 Percent Group, Fundations, and SIPPS. She also has more than a decade of experience providing online tutoring and instruction. Andrea holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary Education from the University of Georgia and an Education Specialist degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Georgia. She holds a PreK-5 teaching certificate through the Georgia Department of Education, along with Gifted Certification and ESOL and Dyslexia Endorsements. She has also earned Orton-Gillingham Level 1 Certification through the Orton-Gillingham Online Academy. When she is not teaching, Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, two dogs, two cats, and leopard gecko.
