Brittany is a highly-qualified, veteran teacher and reading specialist with over 14 years of experience in literacy education. She holds an Advanced Professional License in the following areas: Reading Specialist (K-12), Early Childhood, Elementary, and Middle School Mathematics. She is also trained as an English Language Development teacher through McDaniel College. Brittany holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education through Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, and a Master of Science for Reading Specialist with ESOL degree from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. In addition, she is currently attending Towson University in the Teacher as a Leader in Autism Program to attain a Masters of Education in Special Education. Brittany is trained through The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education in Orton-Gillingham, an intensive literacy intervention. She is also trained in Sound Partners, SIPPS (Collaborative Classroom Explicit Phonics Intervention), and many informal diagnostic assessments. Finally, Brittany has been thoroughly trained in the Science of Reading through the LETRS program from Lexia. Working with students in small group interventions is the highlight of Brittany’s career as a reading specialist! She loves bringing the joy of reading and the feeling of success to students who find reading to be a challenge.
