Since 2018, she has served as District Dyslexia Specialist for Irving Independent School District, in Irving, Texas, coaching interventionists, developing instructional strategies, and ensuring adherence to structured literacy principles. At Irving High School, Erica delivers literacy instruction using the Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA) and extends her impact through private dyslexia therapy, partnering with families to provide tailored interventions that empower students academically and build their confidence. Erica is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA), earning this designation in 2020 after completing rigorous training in the Shelton Academic Language Approach. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Multisensory Teaching from Dallas Baptist University. As a dyslexia coach and specialist, Erica equips educators with tools and strategies to support diverse learners effectively.
