Benjamin T.

Benjamin T. is a dedicated, patient, and compassionate teacher with over 15 years of private tutoring experience. He received his Bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Central Florida. Upon moving to NYC in 2023, Ben began training to become a reading and literacy tutor for children with dyslexia. He received his Orton Gillingham Multisensory Learning Education certification through the Children’s Dyslexia Center of New York accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. Ben’s tutoring is built on the National Reading Panel’s 5 pillars of effective reading instruction, which are Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. He has found this method of teaching to be highly effective and enjoys seeing his students gain confidence in their reading and writing abilities. Ben understands the challenges that children with dyslexia go through while learning to read and has the patience to meet them where they are by creating a fun and relaxed learning environment for them to thrive. Ben is set to continue his Orton Gillingham level 2 certification training later this year. Outside of teaching, Ben enjoys reading, writing, history, playing music, cycling around the city, and spending time with friends and family.
