Angela is a highly experienced literacy educator with 22 years of teaching elementary-aged students with a wide range of social, emotional, academic, and learning needs. She is currently a Reading Interventionist and third-grade literacy teacher to a diverse student population in Denver. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Montana, she received her CELTA certificate through the University of Cambridge and taught English in Japan for two years. It was there that she discovered the joy of teaching, leading her to return to the United States to earn her K–6 Elementary Education license at MSU Denver. She has since taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade literacy for the past 20 years in Denver Public Schools. Angela is trained in the Science of Reading, Wilson Reading, Read Naturally, and Really Great Reading programs. She is deeply passionate about providing each student with the precise skills they need to reach their full reading potential. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, and doing anything outdoors.
